We are now accepting submissions for the September issue of Worktown Words on the theme of belonging.
Exploring our place in the world, who we are, where we belong in terms of people and place – submissions open 1st August to 26th August, midnight.
This issue will be guest edited by Louise Machen, Louise Machen is a widely published Mancunian poet with an MA in Creative Writing from The University of Manchester. Her work has most recently appeared in Cape Magazine and Acropolis Journal. She has been nominated for The Forward Prize, Pushcart Prize and Best of the Net; she has a collaborative pamphlet with Hedgehog Press, ‘The Words of Others are All We Have’ and she is looking forward to publishing her forthcoming collection with Black Bough Poetry.
Submission guidelines:
- Up to three pieces per submission
- All work to be submitted in the same document in separate pages, NOT in the body of the email, either Word or Doc.x.
- Title the document Worktown Words September 2024, authors name
- Poetry up to 40 lines
- Fiction up to 1500 words
- Use font Times New Roman, size 11
- Submit to worktownwords@livefromworktown.org.uk
