We are now inviting submissions for the next issue of Worktown Words on the theme of Resistance.
In a world rapidly becoming overwhelmed with headlines of atrocity and injustice, what is the role of the writer in the battle of Resistance? Explore what resistance can look like in your local communities, who or what are we resisting, and why?
Submissions open from 15/06/25 to 15/07/25, midnight.

This issue will be guest edited by Michaela Violet, a queer multidisciplinary artist from Manchester who specialises in non fiction poetry and prose surrounding the working class experience, feminism, mental health and surrealism. She is one half of Switched Up Poetry, organising creative events across Manchester, a charity worker by day, and most importantly a dog mum.
