We are now inviting submissions for the next issue of Worktown Words on the theme of Links.
Exploring what links us to each other, to place or sound, or the world at large – submissions open from 31st January to 28th February, midnight.
This issue will be guest edited by Jack Washingdale, an artist and creator from Manchester, now based in the Midlands. A multi-slam winning poet, Jack has performed his work at venues across the UK and recently featured on BBC Radio reading from his debut poetry collection, WIRES. Beyond writing and performing, Jack runs Poets on Polaroid, a photography project capturing the spoken word community at events around the country.Â
Submission guidelines:
- Up to three pieces per submission
- All work to be submitted in the same document in separate pages, NOT in the body of the email, either Word or Doc.x.
- Title the document Worktown Words September 2024, authors name
- Poetry up to 40 lines
- Fiction up to 1000 words
- Use font Times New Roman, size 11
- Submit to worktownwords@livefromworktown.org.uk
