We are now inviting submissions for the next issue of Worktown Words on the theme of The Outdoors.

Exploring the ways in which Spring morphing into Summer might change the natural spaces in and around Bolton. Focusing on your favourite natural beauty spot in the area, what are your most memorable experiences being in the great outdoors?

Submissions open 25th April 2025 and close 23rd May 2025 at 23:59.

This issue will be guest edited by Lizzie Diggle, a published author and poet, passionate about nurturing creativity and exploring the world around us with words.

Lizzie’s first children’s book, TheLittle Wonky Pumpkin was published in 2021, and after eight years of primary school teaching, Lizzie is now a full-time professional writer for Literacy Counts to support reading and writing in schools.
